About Renuvion
Dr. Min can perform Renuvion on several areas of the body, including the neck, arms, thighs, abdomen, and more, improving mild to moderate skin laxity without the need for excision.
- Dual-Energy Approach: Renuvion works by delivering a unique combination of RF energy and cold helium plasma beneath the skin. This dual-energy approach allows for rapid tissue heating followed by immediate cooling, resulting in precise skin contraction while minimizing thermal damage to surrounding tissues.
- Targets Underlying Structures: Unlike traditional skin-tightening treatments or surgical excision, Renuvion targets the underlying structures responsible for skin laxity, rather than relying solely on surface-level treatments. This makes it an effective option for patients who want noticeable tightening without long incisions or prolonged downtime.
- Collagen Stimulation: The controlled energy delivered during treatment also stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, helping to improve skin firmness and elasticity over time.
- Minimally Invasive Approach: With its ability to provide consistent, uniform tightening, Renuvion is an ideal solution for patients seeking a minimally invasive approach to skin rejuvenation and contour enhancement.
Candidates
You may be a candidate for Renuvion if you have loose skin that you want to improve, but you don’t want the long scars that result from skin excision. Patients are often post-weight loss, post-pregnancy, or are experiencing loose skin due to the natural processes of aging. Patients who undergo fat removal can benefit from Renuvion afterward to help the skin conform to the body’s new contours.
Patients should be nonsmokers (or willing to quit smoking), be in good general health, and have realistic expectations regarding results. Dr. Min will confirm each patient’s candidacy for this treatment during your consultation.
Personal Consultation
During a personal consultation, Dr. Min will meet with you one-on-one to confirm your candidacy and discuss the details of your treatment plan. She will ask about your medical history, ideal results, and areas of concern. She will also perform a physical assessment to evaluate your skin quality. Using this information, Dr. Min will help you determine the best course of action and create a personalized solution to help you achieve each of your personal and aesthetic goals.
To schedule this consultation, please submit our online contact form. Alternatively, you may reach our Pasadena office by calling or texting (626) 214-5727.
Preparation
In preparation for your treatment, Dr. Min will provide a set of detailed instructions. These may vary depending on your treatment plan. Dr. Min may advise you to:
- Refrain from taking medications and supplements that contain blood-thinning properties.
- Prepare to take time away from work and commitments to focus on healing.
- Pre-arrange transportation to and from your treatment.
- Fill any prescriptions you may need.
- Discontinue any nicotine use in the weeks leading up to your treatment and throughout your recovery.
- Avoid alcohol consumption in the days before and after your appointment.
Procedure
Prior to the start of the procedure, you will take an oral sedative for maximal comfort and relaxation. Dr. Min will then cleanse your skin, and you will receive local anesthesia to keep you comfortable throughout treatment. Dr. Min will then make a small incision near the treatment area. If there is fat in the treatment area that you would like to remove, Dr. Min can first perform ultrasound-assisted liposuction. She will insert a thin cannula into the incision, which will emit ultrasonic waves to emulsify the targeted fat cells and remove them, leaving the area more contoured.
From there, she will remove the cannula and use the Renuvion probe to tighten your skin. This combination of controlled energy will contract your skin and stimulate the natural production of collagen. (2)
Recovery
After your Renuvion treatment, you may experience some swelling, bruising, or tenderness around the treated areas. These effects are temporary and will subside gradually on their own, but you may also manage them with prescribed medications and plenty of rest. Dr. Min may also ask you to wear a compression garment as you heal, which will further minimize swelling and support your new contours.
After about 1 to 2 weeks, you will be able to return to most of your daily activities. However, you will need to refrain from physically demanding tasks or activities until Dr. Min approves. During your consultation, she will provide any additional instructions you may need. If any questions or concerns arise, please feel free to give us a call!
Results
You will be able to notice immediate improvements in your figure after your treatment, but the full results will become more apparent as any residual swelling dissipates and your collagen levels elevate. You will be able to enjoy smoother, tighter, and firmer skin, as well as a more contoured and defined appearance overall.
The results of Renuvion are long-lasting, with many of our patients experiencing effects that last for several years. Maintaining a stable weight and leading a healthy lifestyle can help prolong results.

FAQ
What concerns can Renuvion address?
Renuvion can help you effectively tighten and smooth the skin, improving the appearance of mild to moderate lax skin around the body. Patients with more significant skin laxity may benefit more from an excisional procedure. Dr. Min will assess your skin quality to determine if the procedure is right for you.
How will I know if Renuvion is right for me?
During your consultation, Dr. Min will assess your medical history and skin quality to determine whether Renuvion or another treatment is right for you. The best candidates for this treatment are those with mild to moderate skin laxity, in generally in good health, and have realistic expectations for their results. Patients with active infections in the treatment area will need to delay their appointment. Pregnant patients may not be recommended for this procedure as well.
Is Renuvion painful?
This treatment is generally considered to be well-tolerated, as anesthesia is administered beforehand. After treatment, patients may experience some swelling and tenderness in the treated areas. These effects are temporary and will resolve on their own, and can be minimized by following the aftercare instructions provided by Dr. Min.
Can I combine my Renuvion treatment with another aesthetic procedure?
Yes, you may choose to combine your treatment with another to complement and enhance your final results; patients often undergo Renuvion after a liposuction procedure. Liposuction on its own cannot address skin laxity, so combining the treatment with Renuvion helps patients achieve tighter, better-defined contours by helping the skin contract after fat removal. For more information on the other treatments you may be eligible for, please schedule a consultation or reach out to Dr. Min’s office.
How long does it take to see results from Renuvion?
It is possible notice immediate tightening after treatment, but results continue to improve over several months as collagen production increases and swelling resolves.
What areas of the body can be treated with Renuvion?
Renuvion is a highly versatile skin-tightening treatment; it can be used to tighten skin in many areas, including the neck, arms, abdomen, thighs, flanks, and other regions affected by skin laxity.
How long do Renuvion results last?
Renuvion results are long-lasting for most patients, especially when a stable weight and healthy lifestyle are maintained. Natural aging will continue, but the treated areas typically remain firmer and more contoured for years. Large weight fluctuations or pregnancy can cause skin laxity to recur.
